Shuttle Atlantis has undocked from the International Space Station - Flying in tandem with ISS

All of this is being shown on NASA TV and can be viewed on the Internet.

You may even be able to view in the evening sky, see Space Weather News
post below.

Some have felt that the ISS orbiting Earth is a waste.
Others would like to orbit a city in the sky.
Things that CAN be done, are not necessarily done.
Things that CAN'T be done, someone will show you that it might well be
possible to do.

Sometimes we preach an idea with religious zeal.
Any idea that is in conflict with our conviction is counted as wrong and
MUST be changed.
I find it hard to stand on a soap box and shake my finger.
(even though they use to be made of wood)

You may enjoy the thoughts of the SF writer Charlie Stross on Space Colonization.
------------------------------------------------
The High Frontier, Redux, by Charlie Stross:
...I write SF for a living. Possibly because of this, folks seem to
think I ought to be an enthusiastic proponent of space exploration and
space colonization. Space exploration? Yep, ... I'm all in favour of
advancing the scientific enterprise. But actual space /colonisation/ is
another matter entirely...

I just looked at the length of comments on The High Frontier, Redux, by
Charlie Stross, and it is up to 560.

Space Weather News for June 19, 2007
http://spaceweather.com

On Tuesday morning, June 19th, space shuttle Atlantis is scheduled to undock
from the International Space Station. On Tuesday night, the pair will fly in
tandem over many US towns and cities including Detroit, Washington DC, San
Francisco and Denver. Typical flybys take place shortly after sunset, with the
pair first appearing in the northwest (look for the Big Dipper) and soaring
overhead from there. The space shuttle appears first, followed by the ISS.
Both spacecraft are bright and easy to see with the naked eye. Double flybys
continue on Wednesday night, June 20th, before Atlantis returns to Earth on
Thursday, June 21st.
