Shuttle Atlantis landed Edwards AFB - STS117 Mission - Great Viewing NASA TV

Have had some great viewing of the STS117 mission on NASA TV by way of
the Internet.

Watching the final close out at Edwards.

Expedition Flight Engineer Sunita L. Williams returned from her record
breaking tour on the ISS and Expedition 15/16 Flight Engineer Clayton C.
Anderson was sent to the station.

The ISS and Shuttle were viewable in the evening skies here in Tracy
this week and I watched with the neighbors out in front of the house.
Our street light were no help but the craft were both bright specks in
the sky as they flew over. Only took a few minutes.

The Moon and Venus were bright in the sky as well.
Was nice meeting some of the neighbor's kids out with their parents.

Handed out printouts made from Heavens-Above charts and visible pass
times for our location.
Current observing site: *Tracy, 37.740°N, 121.424°W*

Was fun explaining about the Moon moving to the East each night as it
orbits Earth and watching it set to the West as the Earth turned and
looking at the different ISS tracks as we rotated under the its 92
minute orbit.

Watching the relative change for positions of Venus, Saturn, and the
Moon each evening suddenly gives you a feel for being on spaceship Earth.

Thanks for looking up with me either here or out in the street.
